Soon to be Apple’s newest product, the iPad. So what exactly is an iPad? An iPad is pretty much a combination of an iPod Touch and an iPhone, basically an iPod on steroids.

Apple is releasing two different versions of the Ipad: the wi-fi only version and the wi-fi and 3G version, each with a separate price tag. The wi-fi only version of the iPad has 16 GB to 64 GB and costs between $500 to $700. The 3G model has the same capacity, but the price ranges from $630 to $830.

The iPad has the same applications as the iPod Touch and the iPhone. The iPad comes with Safari, mail, photos, built in App and Itunes store, and many other applications.

Before the release, Apple let some professional testers try out and comment on the new Ipad. One tester, Joshua Topolsky, stated on netbooks.com that the “screen is stunning, the keyboard is good.” But, the negatives were “There’s no multitasking at all. It’s a real disappointment” and “it feels pretty weighty in your hand.”

One great feature that comes along with the Ipad is its size: books that you could download and put on the Ipad would be easier to read and it wouldn’t be a strain to read, since the font size would be much bigger than on the Ipod Touch. This feature could also be used in schools and may replace textbooks in the future.

This new product will be released in March and April.
