November 30th is the feast of St. Andrews. This is the same St. Andrews that is our school’s namesake. This same St. Andrew is the saint that fought a lion, which is why we are named the St. Andrew’s lions. These are two very good reasons  why we should have November the 30th off.

The St. Andrew’s community should have November 30th off because it is the feast of St. Andrews. This should be a time to celebrate our schools namesake. Without this great man, we would not have the school in which we have met many of our friends and teachers. We would not have a student center, and we would not have this great education. This great man had also given us our greatly loved mascot, the lion. The lion at the time of St. Andrew was the most feared creature on the earth. When this creature was brought out, the bravest men would quake in fear and curl into the fetal position.

Like many of the great men that we take a day to remember, why should we not do the same for a great man like St. Andrew? We do it for other great men. Why not this one? But many may ask how are we going to fit it into our schedule. Well it is easy: just move Thanksgiving break back. A benefit of this would be that what we would have just learned before the break would not be as fuzzy when we come back because we had this other day to remember it more. So, in conclusion lets take the 30th off.
